Re: Bishops Shun Notre Dame
by
Anonymous
Let us not hesitate in warming up to the subject matter. The performance of the Vagina Monologues at Notre Dame is an abomination.
All of the Church teachings of the past and the lessons of the saints were insufficient to convey the immorality of violence to women. In their missions the Church and Notre Dame had to wait to be “saved” by this modern and vulgar “work of art,” which expressed and conveyed so poignantly the inexpressible. BUNK.
The practices of tact and tolerance become trivialized when misused. Through force of leadership a resounding “No” to performing the VM would be understood for what it means. When Jesus confronted the moneychangers He did not approach them and say: “Gentlemen, we really need to sit down together and discuss this issue of changing money in the temple. I am sure we can come to an equitable solution.”
He demonstrated moral discernment and moral leadership. Have these attributes fallen by the wayside at Notre Dame?
The path along the proverbial slippery slope is already well trodden. I call for some heads to roll, starting at the very top. Anyone brave enough to second it?
