Dear Fr. Jenkins: As an alumnis of 52 years and a member of the Sorin Society for most of that period, I am outraged to hear that it is your intent to allow "The Vagina Monologues" to again appear on campus. I took time to summarily review this work, when it last was scheduled on to appear at Notre Dame, and found it to be offensive and a moral abomination, which has no place on the campus of Our Blessed Mother, Mary. It is an insult to our Catholic Faith, and Our Lady, and no excuse that "Academic Freedom" or an open exchange of ideas supports your decision is acceptable. The recent reaction by a group of our Bishops, and the reaction of many of my fellow alumni ,should make you seriously reconsider your position. I implore you to reject allowance of this travesty at our beloved University.
