In December 2000, the NCCB AD Hoc Committee put together their own interpretation of the Academic Mandatum, which can be found on the U.S.C.C.B. website. ( or google mandatum ) Here is a quote from that document: " Because the decision to with hold or withdraw the mandatum touches on the rights of theologians, the general principle of Canon Law should be adhered to in seeking recourse and in the process of appeal." Here is one Right I am certain a Catholic Theologian does NOT have, the right to misrepresent the Catholic Church.
