"[T]he long-term outlook . . . looks bleak"? Not hopeless? As long as a bishop will not use his authority to take away a college's ability to call itself Catholic and/or as long as funding sources continue, this awful trend will continue. At what point does continued support of Notre Dame become idolatry? At what point does our love of God necessitate that we support other colleges that strive to be authentically Catholic?
